# Node (Circuit) A **node** is the junction of two or more branches. A **branch** is any portion of a circuit with two terminals connected to it. ![](Screenshot%202024-07-19%20at%208.46.16%20AM.png) ### Power Grid In a power grid, a node is where **generators** and **load** (e.g. utilities, industrial plants) are connected to the grid. **Generators:** * Offer to sell power at the node where they are connected. * Receive the LMP for that node. **Utilities:** * Offer to buy power at the node where they are connected. * Pay the LMP for that node. --- Date: 20240719 Links to: Tags: References: * [Intro to Circuits 15: What is a Node? - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz_Mk8CfNMA)
