# Node (Circuit)
A **node** is the junction of two or more branches. A **branch** is any portion of a circuit with two terminals connected to it.

### Power Grid
In a power grid, a node is where **generators** and **load** (e.g. utilities, industrial plants) are connected to the grid.
**Generators:**
* Offer to sell power at the node where they are connected.
* Receive the LMP for that node.
**Utilities:**
* Offer to buy power at the node where they are connected.
* Pay the LMP for that node.
