# Scientism Scientism is explained as: we should only accept as true that which can be shown true by the scientific method. That is of course a [philosophical](Philosophy.md) assumption that cannot be proven true via the scientific method. You cannot show via the scientific method that the only things we should believe must be shown true via the scientific method.
