# 2024 Presidential Election My guiding principles and concerns * [Error Correction](Error%20Correction.md) * To Read: * Sam Harris - Harris * Shapiro - Trump * Douglass Murray - Trump * Deutsch - Trump * Taleb - Trump * Ravikant - Trump * Musk - Trump What are the biggest issues I am concerned about? Trump failed with the peaceful transfer of power, one of the most important means to error correction. See superwhisper Changes the system are also dangerous * Shapiro: if you think that the character of our politicians determines the fate of our country, then we are most certainly on a one way street to hell. However, if you think the character of the American people and our underlying culture (western values) is what dictates the fate of our country, then you would want to do all you can to put as much power back in the hands of American people. At this point it appears that only the Republican party is trying to do that right now. * Shapiro: Were you better off at the end of the Trump administration? Or the Biden? I would argue Trump. I do really like what he did with Foreign policy, Abraham Accords, etc. * Harris: We are all disgusted with the Left and the Woke movement. There's an argument to be made that things will *improve* under a Harris administration. The reason being that everyone is already sick of this absurd movement. It is rotten and goes *nowhere*. The only thing that could keep it going is having an enemy to fight against. Trump is that enemy. If he is elected then that entire movement has something to rally around. * Me: The Democratic party is *broken*. It needs [Error Correction](Error%20Correction.md). If Trump wins, for the second time in eight years, they *must* admit something is wrong and change course. If Kamala wins, that signals to the dems that they can keep doing what they have been doing and be fine. We'll have Kamala running again in four years. My ideal state would be to have a great Dem running in 2028. That is *not* Kamala (she is an irritating moron - just look at her track record in San Fransisco). You could also argue that trump getting elected strengthens the left and we get a more extreme candidate next time. * Naval: Vote to protect the American dream of equal opportunity, not a Marxist fantasy of equal outcome. * Deutsch: [Neither candidate is as bad as the other claims](https://x.com/DavidDeutschOxf/status/1852428801839366331). But Trump has shown an ability to improve on his bad ideas, while no one in the Biden Administration has. --- Date: 20241031 Links to: Tags: References: * []()
