# Imagine you are 90 ## Overview Imagine you’re 90 and sitting on a park bench looking back on your life. What do you remember as the highlights? What do you want people to say about you? Looking from this perspective gives you the ability to get out of the day-to-day and gain clarity over direction. What is your legacy work? What do you value? Did you live a life true to yourself or did someone else decide how you should live? #### 11/30/2020 > I had more laughs and adventures with Dom than I ever thought possible. We were there for each other, listened, and showed up every day for 70 years. We explored the world and our backyard, growing each step of the way together.
I created something (a book, company, or a little nugget!).
I provided a good life and lived it on my terms. I never accepted that their was some "traditional way" in which the world worked that needed to be conformed to. Each day I learned a bit more about the true reality, and always updated my beliefs to take advantage of it, not fight it.
I contributed to society and was useful by being a good problem avoider and solver.
I gave my all to what was important. I focused intently on what I valued most.
I cared for the relationships that were important to me. Dom says she wouldn't trade our relationship for the world, my brothers say they couldn't have asked for a better big brother, and my kids a better dad.
I never lost my perpetual curiosity and energy. I consistently cared for my health so my 60s, 70s, and 80s were some of the most amazing years of my life with Dom. --- tags: #decision-making #thought-experiment links: [The Most Important Thing](The%20Most%20Important%20Thing.md) created: 2020-11-30 modified: 2020-11-30
