# How to reason effectively against a Covid denier The rise of the Coronavirus during the year of 2020 has made it abundantly clear: many people *feel* that a certain argument is incorrect, but they can not effectively *argue* in it's favor. More importantly, they can effectively *explain* it. Overall argument: Science is a process, not meant to yield certainty. We must take into account asymmetry/convexity of a situation, as well as how that applies in statistical situations. Arguments against this are strawman arguments that we should look out for. TO ADD: * Science is a process * Deutsch chapters on epistemology * Asymmetry of errors and knowledge * Taleb perhaps? fs blog will probably do a good summary * statistical thinking * my own knowledge, an example? * Straw man arguments [Strawman Argument](Strawman%20Argument.md) * fs blog article * --- tags: #science #epistemology #asymmetry #straw-man links: created: 2020-11-19 modified: 2020-11-19
